the design process.
meeting stage
Before we schedule an appointment to meet with you in person, we’ll make sure we’ve clearly defined exactly what we do. We are not an advertising agency or marketing firm, we are a graphic design studio. We specialize in graphic design for print & web, meaning we will design your marketing materials or website based on supplied text, photos & illustrations, supplied either by you or by an outside professional (your resource or ours). During our meeting, which is usually about 1-2 hours, we will find out more about you: general facts about your company and perhaps even get a tour of your facility. Next, we will discuss your needs, timeline, and even your desired budget if you so wish. Based on the information gathered from our meeting, we will be able to supply you with a general estimate for your project(s), generally within the next day or so. Once our proposed estimate, timeframe, and payment terms have been agreed upon, we will move onto the design stage.
design stage
Provided we have received a deposit or purchase order number, signed estimate, and essential elements such as text and photos, we will begin to work on designing your project(s) as soon as possible. Comps will be presented via email (PDF) or in person (as outlined), within a timely manner. Clients will then have an opportunity to offer feedback or request revisions until a final approval has been reached.
final art
In our final stage, we will require you to sign off on a final art proof so that the artwork can be released to you or a specified vendor. All artwork is provided in High Resolution PDF Format, suitable for indefinite professional printing. Please note that should you decide to have us upload files to your own vendor, we will not be able to guarantee the quality of the final output, and we highly recommend for you to inquire about their proofing method. However, if you need assistance with print buying or print supervision, we will gladly provide this service for an additional fee.
additional notes regarding PDF’s:
PDF’s have now become the industry’s standard of receiving art files for final output. While some clients may be concerned about the ability to make future text edits (such as in product catalogs), PDF’s can give clients this ability with the appropriate software (Full version of Adobe Acrobat, and all Fonts used in design). Client is responsible for purchasing software. For more information about Acrobat, please go to www.adobe.com/products/acrobat
